My name is Mike.
Just like anyone else, I am a lot of things: a writer, a husband, a father, a friend, a son.
I also consider myself a storyteller. I know that sounds pretentious as all hell, but I’ve spent a lot of my life considering what makes a great story, and how the ones that are not so great can be better. I really enjoy helping other writers and storytellers improve their work, regardless of genre, format, or media.
“I’m looking for people who are passionate, who care terribly about something.”
- Kurt Vonnegut, Like Shaking Hands with God
My ideal clients aren’t Hollywood tastemakers or best-selling novelists. They are people with a passion to tell a story and to do it well. Maybe you had an idea that was just too good to let go, but you don’t know how to get started. Maybe you wrote a whole novel in a month, and you’re not sure what to do with it next. Maybe you wrote a screenplay in class, and you want to see if you can take it farther. Maybe you’ve lived a life that’s just begging to be put in writing. No matter what direction your passion pulls you in, I want to help make it happen.
“Just remember that Dumbo didn’t need the feather; the magic was in him.”
- Stephen King, On Writing
As a writer, I also know the struggle that comes with putting thoughts down on the page. Even more so, I know how hard it is when you’re neurodivergent, struggling with your mental health, dealing with traumatic content or even just trying to push through your trauma to get the words out. This is not a place of tough love. My goal is to create a safe space where writers can receive praise and constructive criticism without fear of being treated like they are wasting someone’s time.
If any of this strikes a chord with you, please send a message. I would love to work with you.
